📍We spent our chilly Saturday exploring Myponga

📍We spent our chilly Saturday exploring Myponga Reservoir which is located about an hours drive south of Adelaide on the Fleurieu Peninsula.

It was interesting to find out that the reservoir was once a town that was flooded in called ‘Lovely Valley’.
•
It is now open to the public for recreational purposes. Offering beautiful bush walking trails through a pine forest, bike riding trails, fishing area, kayaking and wildlife.🌲🚴🎣🛶🦘
•
A cool piece of history we discovered is among the houses that lay under the water is the site of the Lovely Valley School which only operated for four years 1865 - 1869.
•
‘Rumour’ has it that an old church below the surface can sometimes reveal its steeple when the droughts are on. 🤔
•
We also found some cool mushrooms just like the emoji! Never seen one of these before! 😵‍💫🍄
